Every Friday, at The Soundx we will pick some new releases, based on quality or importance, which ones you should listen to throughout the week. This week we have releases from Duda Beat, Royal Blood, girl in red, Dawn Richard, and Teenage Fanclub.
Duda Beat – Te Amo Lá Fora
Released exactly three years after her debut album, 2018’s Sinto Muito, Brazilian singer Duda Beat’s newest record, Te Amo Lá Fora, has 11 new tracks and production by Lux Ferreira and Tomás Tróia. The album features the singles “Melô de ilusão” and “Meu pisêro,” and is released through Românticah and Altafonte Records.
Royal Blood – Typhoons
Typhoons, the third record by the English rock duo Royal Blood, started to be written and recorded back in 2019. However, the record’s crafting process was halted after several concerts and performances in festivals. Due to 2020’s Covid-19 pandemic, the band went back to work on the album and wrote additional songs. Typhoons features the single “Limbo” and production by Josh Homme.
girl in red – if i could make it go quiet
Norwegian musician Girl in Red’s debut record, if i could make it go quiet, it’s produced by her and Matias Tellez, alongside Finneas O’Connell. Released independently through AWAL and her own World in Red label, the record follows 2018’s Chapter 1 and 2019’s Chapter 2 and features the track “Serotonin.”
Dawn Richard – Second Line
On Dawn Richard’s sixth album, Second Line, the former Danity Kane singer introduces the alter-ego called King Creole, which was defined as, “assassin of stereotypes, a Black girl from the South at a crossroads in her artistic career.” The record features the singles “Bussifame” and “Jacuzzi,” and is the singer’s first album with Merge Records.
Teenage Fanclub – Endless Arcade
Scottish band Teenage Fanclub’s eleventh full studio album, Endless Arcade, is their first since the departure of co-founder Gerard Love and with new member Euros Childs. The record is released through PeMa and Merge and features the songs “Everything Is Falling Apart” and “The Sun Won’t Shine on Me.”
