5 New Albums You Should Listen to This Week!

Every Friday, at The Soundx we will pick some new releases, based on quality or importance, which ones you should listen to throughout the week. This week we have releases from St. Vincent, Sons of Kemet, J. Cole, The Black Keys, and Paris Texas.

St. Vincent Daddy’s Home

Inspired by her father’s release from prison at the end of 2019, St. Vincent’s newest record, Daddy’s Home, features a sound pallet based on New York City in the 1970s. Produced by Jack Antonoff, the album arrives through Loma Vista with the singles “Pay Your Way in Pain” and “The Melting of the Sun.”

Sons of Kemet Black To The Future

Black To The Future is Sons of Kemet’s fourth full-length release, the follow-up to 2018’s Your Queen Is a Reptile. Release through Impulse!, the British jazz group’s newest record features guest appearances from Angel Bat Dawid, D Double E, Joshua Edelin, Lianne La Havas, and more.

J. Cole The Off-Season

With production by Timbaland, Boi-1da, T-Minus, and others, J. Cole’s latest album, The Off-Season, features 12 new songs by the American rapper, including collaborations with 21 Savage, Lil Baby, Morray, and more. The record arrives through Dreamville, Interscope, and Roc Nation.

The Black Keys Delta Kream

Delta Kream is American rock duo the Black Keys’s tenth full-length release. Recorded “in about 10 hours” over two afternoons in December 2019, Delta Kream is a cover record of hill country blues songs. It features the single “Crawling Kingsnake” and the participation of Kenny Brown e Eric Deaton.

Los Angeles rap duo’s debut album, BOY ANONYMOUS, presents five new songs alongside the previously released singles “Heavy Metal,” “Force Of Habit,” and “Situations.”
